How would you describe your style in three words?
Wearable, chic and classic.
What do you look for when it comes to purchasing wardrobe staples?Quality items that are made well, that will mix with existing pieces in my wardrobe. I look for pieces that aren’t trend-led that I know I’ll love for a very long time.
My advice would be to pause, strip out the noise and take it back to basics. There is a lot of information being fed to us, through our social media feeds and other outlets, it can be easy to get sucked in trying to tap into every trend, wanting to continually re-vamp and add to your wardrobe. I find it useful, when you get those feelings, to pause and think about what serves you in terms of your lifestyle. For example, if you’re a busy Mum having to do the school run, working from home, or lead an active lifestyle, a wardrobe full of heels isn’t going to serve you, there will be a wardrobe that is more useful to you.
I think comfort is ultimately key within everyone’s wardrobes, and the more we feel comfortable in our clothes, the more we are going to want to wear them, making them a more worthwhile investment. Rather than focusing on what’s on-trend or what other people are wearing, focus on what suits you and what you feel your best in. Look to brands that align with your style and create a colour palette you like and feel comfortable in, then build your wardrobe around that. Pick colours that work well together so that you don’t have to continuously buy more items that don’t necessarily work together.
Ultimately, style is personal to you, cultivate a wardrobe you love now and that you’ll love for years to come, standing the test of time.
What give pieces are a must-have in your wardrobe?
A wool coat, tote bag, cashmere or wool jumper, straight leg blue denim jeans, and a tailored blazer.
What’s on your radar for the winter season?
This winter season, I’ll be investing in a quality pair of gloves, and a hat and scarf combo.
How will you be styling your DuoBoots this season?
I am such a coat and boot girl; they will be the main focal point of my outfit. I haven’t owned a pair of suede boots before, so I am so excited to be pairing these with a statement coat or knitwear this winter.
