If you're investing in a pair of quality leather boots
you'll want them to last as long as possible...
Follow our tips to ensure you keep your
boots looking their best for longer!
Store your boots properly
- Use boot trees to ensure they keep their shape and to protect the zip
- Alternatively you can use the original packaging provided to help maintain the shape of the boot
- Store boots in your DuoBoots box to save space
- Store your ankle boots in soft cloth or tissue paper
Protect them from wear and tear
Spray your boots as soon as possible with a protector spray.
Nourish and protect the leather with cream or polish.
We recommend you always use a protector spray
before first wear and at regular intervals.
Each type of leather or fabric needs special care!
Remember to always test any care product on a small area first.
|My boots are made of...||We recommend...|
|Leather||Use a leather cream to nourish the leather and polish them regularly to keep them looking soft and new.|
|High gloss leather||Remove marks with a damp cloth, then polish with a patent lotion to help prevent cracking and ensure a glossy shine.|
|Suede||Use a gentle, soft, suede brush with a gentle cleaner to remove any marks.|
|Nubuck||Use special nubuck shampoos and cleaners to remove dirt or stains.|
|Hair leather||Remove marks with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid rubbing the hair with a brush. Hair leather naturally repels water.|
Caught out by the weather?
Leather resists water very well but it’s not completely waterproof! If you get your boots wet, stuff your boots with paper and let them dry naturally at room temperature (avoid direct heat). Polish and protector spray will help prevent damage from salt sprayed on snow. Water marks can often be gently cleaned and then polished. If the salt stains your boots, remove the stain as soon as possible with a damp cloth. Once dry, polish and protect your boots again to protect the leather.
Love your boots
Take your boots to a cobbler throughout their life to maintain the leather, soles and heels.
Your boots also need to rest between wears; we recommend you alternate your boots daily.
We also use a local, recommended cobbler to help with maintaining your boots.
