Poet and mental health ambassador, Charly Cox shares what she loves about dressing for the colder months, with notes on how she styles her DuoBoots.
What is your go-to style of boot?
I loved the Camden boots. I’ve always been nervous about knee high’s dwarfing my legs and leaving me self conscious about my thighs but I couldn’t believe a) how long my legs and looked and b) how flattering the cut was. They’re a dose of self-confidence with a sole.
What do you love about dressing in the autumn and winter months?
Autumn is my season. Mixing layers and textures and shapes and colours in a way that summer ensures you don’t. I love how you can create so many different versions of yourself during the autumn.
What are your ‘go-to’ wardrobe staples?
A good-quality oversized blazer, timeless. It also transforms the most unenthusiastic outfit into something quite chic. I think I came out of the womb in office wear.
How has 2020 shaped your shopping and fashion choices?
It’s definitely forced me to address my past love affair with fast fashion. Lockdown has introduced me to shopping in my own wardrobe. It’s been lovely to fall back in love with clothes I already own and give them a new lease of life. My sewing machine has seen quite a few old treasures.
