Looking ahead to Spring, we are hoping that the new season will bring blue skies and light evenings. This has all of us here at Duoboots wanting to update our wardrobes, which we are sure you are on board with!

For the warmer months, our clothing typically becomes brighter and bolder, introducing colours and prints in keeping with natures changes. Yet, making the transition from what is typically a black and neutral toned wardrobe in the winter, to a brighter, varied colour-palette wardrobe in spring and summer isn’t always so easy. As we now need to match colours and prints together, as opposed to layering black on black. This requires far more time, which if you’re anything like us, you are short of already!

We think a great place to start is the core and key pieces of your new wardrobe. This of course is your footwear. With new-found colours at the forefront of your mind, it is footwear which can often be left behind. However, this should not be the case. By investing in a pair of high-quality ankle boots or shoes in a wearable shade, you are sure to get ample wear out of them. What’s more, they are sure to make getting dressed as easy as possible, regardless of how colourful your new season wardrobe may be.

This is where ankle boots in muted tones come in. Their paired back colour and subtle nature allow you to experiment when it comes to your outfit as much as you wish, with no last-minute struggles when heading out the door. Our offering proves muted need not be boring, but interesting in a subtle and classic way. To prove our point, we have put together some colourful spring-inspired styling suggestions using our various muted DuoBoots!

Corsley, Ludlow and Paragon:

Corsley Grey Leather and Ludlow Smoke Grey Suede cover the darker end of the grey scale.

Comfortable with a higher heel? Corsley is perfect for you. Featuring a perforated pattern and Cuban heel, this leather ankle boot proves muted doesn’t mean boring, which is unsurprisingly loved by all the DuoBoots team!

Ludlow is a suede ankle boot which is as comfortable as it is stylish. Stud detailing around the sole along with stitch detailing on the upper give the style a western feel without being too trend led.

In a lighter taupe, continued and much-loved style Paragon is great for pairing with colour, especially that of which is present in the hand-stacked leather heel. This gives you plenty of options, from a baby blue, to taupe as well as natural shades of the heel itself.

We love all three boots paired with floral midi-dresses, versatile enough to take you through both spring and summer, and easily layered with a cosy knit and jacket for the varied temperatures we are experiencing now.

Delmore and Kelston:

Delmore Grey Embossed Suede and Kelston Grey Suede both offer a lighter shade on the neutral scale.

Delmore exudes casual style but is sure to save you from being underdressed. The desert boot is set to be a staple of yours thanks to the low heel, sock padding and clever elasticated laces which require no work - with Delmore you can pull it on and go, great for those of us who are time poor!

Kelston boasts smart style without being bland or boring. This means you can wear the boot to the office and head straight out for dinner or drinks without having to change the entirety of your outfit - win win!

We have styled both pairs of boots with pastel jeans perfect for injecting colour, whilst keeping you warm. They are easily dressed up for work, or down for the weekend as shown, making them a smart purchase for injecting colour this spring.
