With the changing of seasons, we are invariably faced with new trends. Finding the balance between clothing which reflects your personal style, and that which is more directional, is where the struggle lies when it comes to shopping and styling yourself for the change of weather.
If you’d like to see highlights of the best trends for AW19 and receive some styling inspiration for the season, then read on…
Leading Tights
Leading tights, aka hosiery with added interest, were a trend for Autumn Winter ’18 and are back for a second stint this season.

Statement legwear was incorporated into numerous looks on the AW19 catwalk and the styles varied greatly. At Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent, tights were sheer with eye-catching polka dot detailing. In contrast, Pierpaolo Piccioli at Valentino showed opaque black pairs, adding a touch of drama.
Tights being a trend for AW19 is undoubtedly a blessing, as we can both keep warm and be considered fashion-forward for doing so. What’s more, they couldn’t be easier to introduce into your wardrobe. We suggest taking your cues straight from the catwalk for this one. For the office, stick to the thicker and cosier pairs offset with richer tones of burgundy and camel for a polished look.
When heading out, elevate your simple LBD with a printed pair which are sure to set you and everyone else in high spirits.
Complementary boots

To get the full effect and receive the most compliments, we suggest opting for an ankle boot with your tights. Part of The Edit collection, Renata Plum Metallic Leather is a vibrant design sure to pair perfectly with jet-black tights.

Kelston in Black Suede, a sleek and understated design, works well with an eye-catching pair of tights. The ankle boot has a practical heel sure to stand you in good stead for all the festive partying ahead.

“Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking”- that is the infamous line Meryl Streep reads in The Devil Wears Prada. There is of course some truth to the sentence, which is why florals for winter prove far more interesting.

The trend whole-heartedly shies away from the traditional bright colours of botanical prints which are typically reserved for the warmer months, and instead shows a darker colour palette of moody blooms.
Alexander McQueen turned the classic rose blue with added splashes of black to give a traditionally feminine dress a grunge edge. Dries Van Noten showed us how wearable the trend can really be, by adorning an easy black dress with canary yellow and vibrant purple roses, stems included.
Of course, this trend is great for eveningwear, where we can all experiment a little with braver styles. A modest approach would be to opt for the print on accessories, to refresh your style and explore the trend without losing yourself.

Edison Floral Velvet embraces the edgier winter florals and is the perfect way to tap intothe trend. The combination of velvet and an intricate blossoming-design has created a boot which is sure to cheer up any winter’s day, no matter how grey.
Shop EdisonIf feeling more confident, perhaps a long-term lover of florals, the design works unquestionably well on a midi-dress, which is the hero-piece for the trend thanks to its versatile nature.
We suggest pairing the striking print with a knee-high boot to balance contemporary and classic styles. Belmore in Bordeaux or Black Leather is a chic knee high with a platform sure to deliver on both style and comfort. And with our choice of calf sizes, you’re sure to find a beautiful fit.

For AW19, expect to see leather trousers in abundance, and for good reason.

On the catwalk, Hermes showed a straight-cut pair, with Isabel Marant opting for a wider-fit which were both high-waisted and high-shine. At Bottega Veneta, a looser fit was combined with biker-boots for a more relaxed vibe, showing how the material can be reworked into several styles.
A step-up from denim, leather can be worn for smarter occasions, whilst also avoiding the embarrassment of being overdressed. Pair with contrasting textures for added interest, whether this is with your trusty knit, or a crisp white shirt for chic styling, as Meghan Markle continues to prove. If going skinny, wear something of a looser fit on top and vice versa for balance.

For a skinny trouser, Raven in Black Suede, or red if feeling more daring, ticks all the boxes. This knee-high appears to be a flat boot, which is great for those of us already pushing the boat out by wearing leather trousers. Yet, there is a hidden wedge heel inside the boot which gives you a little lift to help legs look longer…win win if you ask us!

Leaning more towards a loose fit, say a jogger style? Keep the relaxed vibes going by adding Parsonage, a hi-top ankle boot trainer. Available in 3 shades, all of which complement a black outfit, Parsonage has two zips making it easy to throw on and go.
Shop ParsonageNeutral Suiting
For AW19, the suit has been elevated to make it an exciting two-piece which is set to come out of the wardrobe at weekends as well as weekdays!

Whilst Lemaire showed a blazer with strong shoulders, all in a wool fabric appropriate for winter weather, Salvatore Ferragamo showed a blazer with relaxed, dropped shoulders and wide leg flowing trousers, for a more relaxed style.
So that we don’t feel or look like we are heading to the office on a Saturday, we love the relaxed option. An oversized blazer pulled in at the waist with a belt will still show off your figure whilst following the trend.
In terms of colour, any neutral shade, including grey, camel, black or white is appropriate, including any of the above in a check-print.

For a mid-heel option, Avalon in Navy, Red or Black Suede works well. The shoe boot slip on is both practical and comfortable.
Shop AvalonIf you’re looking for a higher heel, Luxor is a great choice with its leather-covered heel and an all-black design which makes them a wear-everywhere boot.
